Prediseo WebP Compress SEO ALT privacy policy

This policy explains how Alter Algo processes information when a Shopify merchant installs or uses Prediseo WebP Compress SEO ALT.

Information we process

The app processes the merchant shop domain, Shopify OAuth session data, product, image, file and variant identifiers, product fields used by merchant-selected metadata templates, image metadata and checksums, optimization settings, job progress, error records and measured file sizes. The app does not store image bytes in its database and does not request or store customer records.

How information is used

Information is used only to authenticate the shop, scan and optimize selected product images, update image metadata, automate merchant-enabled processing, retain restoration records, provide support, prevent duplicate jobs and maintain service security.

Image storage

Original and optimized images remain in Shopify Files. Temporary image data used during conversion is removed after processing. Merchants control restoration and permanent original-file cleanup from the app.

Subprocessors and transfers

Shopify provides the commerce platform and file storage. DigitalOcean provides application, database and queue infrastructure hosted in the United Kingdom. Infrastructure backups are retained for up to 30 days. These providers process information only as needed to deliver the service and under their applicable data-protection terms.

Retention and deletion

Operational records are retained while the app is installed. After uninstall, remaining shop records are retained for no more than 30 days and are deleted earlier when Shopify sends its mandatory shop-redaction request. OAuth sessions are removed on uninstall. Shopify-hosted images remain under the merchant's control and are not automatically restored after uninstall.

Merchant rights

A merchant can request access, correction or deletion by emailing the privacy contact above with the shop's myshopify.com domain. Alter Algo verifies that the requester is authorized for the shop before fulfilling the request. Deleting records for an installed shop can make the app unusable and will be confirmed with the merchant first. Requests are handled within the periods required by applicable law.

Security and changes

The service uses HTTPS, server-side Shopify credentials, tenant-scoped database access and authenticated Shopify webhooks. This policy may be updated when service or legal requirements change; the effective date above will be revised when material changes are published.
